For many people it may be difficult to in the presence of someone who has a broken heart. We don’t know how to be with them or what they need. Having a broken heart or supporting someone we love who is experiencing a broken heart can be a rich opportunity if we view it as such.
Pain is a great motivator to be out of pain. When our choices and actions continue to keep us looped in pain, once we reach a tolerance level for that pain, we seek a new potential way of being. Many people become courageous and adventuresome, exploring new ways of being and behaving in the world. Because we are already so far out of our comfort zone, a broken heart can motivate us to open our minds in ways we may not have formerly been open. A broken heart opens a door to deepening the spiritual aspect of our nature. When we have a broader context or perspective from which to view hurtful events, it eases the heart. A spiritual teacher once gave me a perspective that has always stayed with me. When you experience a rejection, its because that situation or relationship is no longer useful for your growth. Energetically mending a broken heart takes time, patience and depends on the degree of desire to change within the individual experiencing. Often there are strong vacillating emotions of relief to grief, freedom to despair. Grounding and stabilizing yourself or your friend through regular contact while setting clear limits on the time spent together can be very healing. Hands on energy healing that involves smoothing and integrating the whole field can be very healing. The heart knows how to heal itself beautifully. Direct energetic work on or over a broken heart may feel invasive or exacerbate grief. It may also feel relieving. Energetically filling a friends broken heart may lead to a subtle collusion. Empowering the individual to feel their own wholeness is a wonderful medicine to heal a broken heart.
This Saturday morning, beginning at 9 am, there are two free classes at Lionheart. The first is an introduction to The Energy System of Healing. Participants will have the opportunity to feel hands on contact and begin to perceive and feel healing energy that heals the heart and body holistically.
The second class from 11 am to noon is being taught by Lionheart graduate, Lisa Lewis. Come feel relaxed, calm and peaceful before you start your weekend by joining Lisa for a chakra awakening and a special guided meditation. This will be a light movement class where participants will have the opportunity to open and clear their energy fields by awakening the seven chakras. Allowing this to happen will provide for a deeper and heart centered meditation.

Understanding sacred sexuality benefits “all” interpersonal relationships because we all embody sexual energy. Whether you are communicating with your lover, friend, coworker, or daughter, connecting to a person’s essence is understanding his heart.
We all embody behaviors, tendencies, and communications styles that match our sexual essence. Miseducation, stress, trauma, and emotional factors can block our natural sexual flow. This workshop is about awakening, balancing, and integrating the sexual spiritual being that you are. Whatever you do, twenty-four hours a day, this workshop is about bringing you closer to your goal of totality and self-fulfillment.

Ray Doktor, Psy. D. is a counselor, sex educator, and international speaker. He has a master’s degree in counseling psychology and a doctorate in clinical psychology. He combines the Western model with Eastern philosophy providing a bridge between metaphysics and science. Other training includes hypnotherapy, NLP, EMDR, gestalt and regression therapy, somatic experience, meditation, qi gong, and tantra. He has conducted workshops and lectures in the United States, Netherlands, Brazil, and England, including speaking engagements at UCLA and UC Berkley. He has shared the same stages with Marianne Williamson, Bruce Lipton, and Eckhart Tolle.
Sometimes, no matter how much we plan or work toward being a responsible adult, the unexpected happens. Whether pleasant or painful, the unexpected shows up in relationships, life events and any number of circumstances. When incidents occur over which we are helpless many are ill equipped in how do we respond. What do we say? What do we do? How should we even think in our mind in such a way that will be productive or realistic and is it even possible?
The tsunami hit not just Japan but our entire planet. We cannot help but be touched directly or indirectly by the hundreds of thousands of people whose lives changed in an instant. When sudden tragedy occurs it gives us pause to reflect. For a few moments we acknowledge our vulnerability. No matter how rich or poor, what continent we live on, if we’re inland or coastal, death, the great humbler, often takes us by surprise. Tragedy gives us the opportunity to think on important questions such as; how am I contributing to others? What if anything, have I done, or can I do to make a difference in this world? We seek reasons, explanations and have a desire to understand, to reconcile our lives and our fate. The tsunami hit my life simultaneously with another personal loss. When I experience devastation I, like most, see to be consoled. When I feel impacted by circumstances, relationships and events beyond my control, I turn toward spiritual teachings. Truth brings ease to my heart when I am helpless over personal or universal circumstances. We know that in this world, there will always be happiness as well as suffering. The two keep oscillating. Sometimes the swings are subtle, and sometimes they are extreme. Periodically, disastrous things happen on the earth planet. But we have to remember that there are no “tragic’ or “untimely” deaths. A person dies at the exact time they are destined to, whether it’s in an earthquake, tsunami, or any other way, and nobody lives forever. Everyone has to die sometime, somehow. Those who died in the disaster in Japan have gone on to their next life according to the actions they performed in this life. The ones who died have moved on. It is the ones left behind who suffer in the absence of their loved ones. We suffer because of the way we look at situations and because of our attachments. If someone needs help, we should help them. There is no telling what will come out of this latest disaster, how it will affect people’s lives in the years to come. So we shouldn’t judge such events as good or bad.
